A lot of people struggle with mental health. I am one of those people. I’ve struggled with anxiety and depression for most of my life and I’m sure many of you know others, or struggle personally, with the many forms of mental illness. One of my main goals in life is to help others who are struggling like me.
Mental health illnesses come in many forms, and here are just a few: Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, Depression, Eating disorders, and various Psychotic Disorders such as Schizophrenia.
I know my fair share of people, including those in my immediate family, who have struggled with one or many of these of these illnesses. Struggling with these illnesses is a very real thing, yet we find most of the world afraid to speak about them. Why is that? Is it because they’re afraid of judgement? Are they afraid of being offensive? Or are they afraid of coming to terms with something they struggle with?
More likely that not, most people are afraid to speak about mental illnesses because they are afraid of telling other people what they struggle with. One of the most beneficial ways to help deal with any mental illness is by telling someone what you struggle with.
I have found, through years of therapy, that talking your problems through help you cope, deal with, and move on from anything that might still be troubling you. I am here to tell you that you will not be judged by me, you will not scare me away, and you most certainly do not have to be afraid of sharing with me. I am here to help people, and the first step in helping is finding out what the issue is.
I started this blog as a school assignment and have absolutely no idea what I'm doing, but here's a little information about me. My name is Anna Riemersma and I am eighteen years old. I enjoy a variety of activities but some of my favorite hobbies include fitness photography, reading, and writing. I am always willing to help people and I love any opportunity to be able to change someone's life.
